4 Hour Body

I'm currently reading the 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. Tim writes about many things to improve fitness, weight gain, weight loss, sleep, sex and many more. What interests me the most is weight gain. Tim claims that if you follow his methods exactly you can gain over 30lbs of lean muscle in 28 days!

I was recently called to see how much weight I could gain in 1 or 2 months for a possible job next year. That got me thinking of an old goal I had in college of trying to break 200lbs. I'm 6'1" and stay between 175lbs and 180lbs naturally. I would have to gain 25lbs to break 200lbs. And I wouldn't want it to just be all 25 fatty lbs. Time to get beefy!

Documenting my food intake will be part of the process. I just set up mobile blogging from my phone so I can snap photos of all the meals I eat during this "experiment" and post them instantly. Let the madness begin!

My Journey

Victor, Luci, McLovin and I had some fun doing an interview and some freerunning for Journeys yesterday at UCLA. They are making a video to play in all of their stores that will include freeruning, base jumping, and various other sports. The theme is "My journey", so they are interviewing different people about their lives and what they do. In our case freerunning!
The crew was awesome and we should be getting the footage in a few weeks.

Pro Reel

I have begun working on Tempest's new professional reel. We have worked on and gathered a great deal of footage that I have been sorting through. Getting footage from the projects you work on is about as easy as catching a kangaroo. You can do it, but you have to be willing to fight for it.
From all the tv shows, commercials and movies we worked on I think I'll be able to put together a pretty sweet reel.
Step 1: convert the footage to ProRes
Step 2: edit
Step 3: edit
Step 4: edit some more
Step 5: eat 5 chocolate chip cookies
Step 6: finish, share and eat some more cookies.

FEET

Time to test out my feet. I've been having some pain in the middle of my feet. Not quite sure from what, but I have given them a week of rest and now it's time to put them back in action. To the GYM!!!

Eating Animals

Let the adventure begin...
I've started reading "Eating Animals" by Jonathan Foer and have become engrossed in it. The book is a wake up call to how our food is processed and handled. I'm about half way through the book and I have already changed my perception on eggs and chicken. There has to be a better way to eat meat without Factory Farm conditions.
It's a great read.

LIVE SHOW

My team and I have been rehearsing for the biggest live show that we have done to date. We are putting more energy into this live show than any other one we have done. First time we have put a performance together counting beats. Not something we are all used to, but Sugar Caine is helping us all learn and stay on beat.
It's also nice to be performing with all of my teammates. It's very rare to get all 11 people available to work at the same time.
Rehearsals are done for this week and will start up when everyone gets back in town next week. NoSole is even coming down from San Fran to stay with us for two weeks to rock out in the show. It's going to be awesome!

Feel the burn

Today was another great workout at Valley Crossfit. Mike put us through a great warm-up consisting of all types of squats and then for the main workout, guess what we did..... more squats!
The workout consisted of doing 5 reps of "clusters" every minute for 20mins (a cluster is a power clean squat straight into a thruster). Rich, Gabe and myself all showed up for the workout this morning and powered through it. After the workout your body feels destroyed, but in a good way. To take our minds of our burnt out arms and legs went to Hugo's in Studio City and had a delicious nutritious breakfast. Hugo's is definitely one of my favorite places to go eat in L.A.
Training has been going great. Slowing knocking out those 10,000hrs.

Valley Crossfit

Mike Latch runs VALLEY CROSSFIT here in the Valley and it is one of the best workouts I have ever done. I give all credit to Mike and crossfit for getting me in shape for the American Ninja Warrior competition. Without the training and conditioning I would have not been able to make it to Japan.

Well, the next try outs for ANW are coming up in March so it's time to get back in gear. I'm doing Crossfit twice a week as well as yoga and freerunning. I want to rock out on that course!

And so it begins...

Happy New Year everyone! This is going to be a good year. I'm surrounded by good people with big dreams and the motivations to make them come true. This is not only going to be a good year for myself but also for Tempest. The storm is growing and we have soo many plans for this year. This will be the best year yet.

As for new years resolutions and goals, I do have a few set for myself:
(a great site to help you keep track of your goals and daily "to dos" is www.teuxdeux.com)

1. Focus on becoming a better athlete by sticking to a goal oriented training schedule.
2. Create a training log and write in it everyday I train, logging the hours (trying to reach that 10,000hr mark!).
3. Eat meat only once a week or less.
4. Barefoot train once a week or more.
5. Track my spending (check out www.mint.com)

My overall motto for the new year is to live, laugh, and love.

The storm is growing. Get ready for all the lightening!

Live free or die,
Diddy
